New Creation: Tribute.

Ladies and gentlemen, i present to you a new piece entitled ‘tribute.’ I am quite pleased with how this turned out. it was truly an inspired piece, heavily influenced by the works of steve nederveen (who’s works i viewed at nuit blanche), inuit/native/aboriginal art, canada, autumn, and nature. it was designed at a size of 30″ x 30″ in full resolution so i am able to print it quite large :) it’d look great on a wall, dontcha think?

it took many many layers and re-working and playing to get it right and i’d like to give a huge heartfelt thank you to david leggett’s spray brushes for photoshop (whose beautifully designed tools i’ve used once before.)

Looks incredible mate! Thanks so much for the shout out :)

I’d love to have something like this on my wall… Hope you’re able to sell a few! Also, thank you for the link to Steve Nederveen — really inspiring stuff!

Looking great man, I thought it was a painting on canvas at first look :P

    Hi J

Thanks for including me on your list and the first look at your new piece is just awesome.

Well done and keep it up :)

Was definatlely worth all the effort. Time to break out the ole wood burning kit?

You know what would be awesome? If you could some how print that on heavy heavy cloth. Put some gold rings/hooks in it, and hang it from a steel rod or some thing. Would make an awesome tapestry.

It’s fantastic J. Very inviting and thought promoting. I can see it on a gallery wall, but preferably mine…or both. :)

wow, everyone, thank you so much for the wonderful words and thoughts. that’s great :)

@aims: well i currently have it quite large (about 2.5 ft x 2.5 ft) and it looks awesome, though the colours aren’t as true on the canvas as on the screen, its still gorgeous! i’m glad you like it.

@dru: hah, i am all up on the woodburning man. your tapestry idea is *wicked* — i will definitely look into it for this piece or one down the road :)

@diane: well thank *you* for your interest and praise! its easy to be happy about that…

@kawlinz: dude, this is my most painterly/brush-like looking digital creation to date, glad you’re feeling it.

@david: thanks for the kind words, your site and brushes and all your work is awesome as well, i’m super happy promoting the sprays and tutorial 9 (seriously people, check out david’s stuff if you’re into photoshop at all, or want to be!)
