New Creation: Like A Bird

Posted by on Apr 21, 2009 in Abstract, Artwork, Portfolio, SpiritSentient.com | 5 comments

Yay! Art time! This piece combines some spatter techniques I’ve played with before, as well as some flowing line-art people have enjoyed, and a new bit of watercolor feel. It got back to my pen + ink roots and was tons of fun. I’d hang it up in my decor… would you? ;)

It came together very quickly in a flash of inspiration, and was prompted by Arthur’s many awesome (as-yet unreleased) bird drawings recently, and I feel really good about it.

I hope you enjoy it, I had a blast creating it.

WHAT!!!!???? Back to the pen!? I never thought I’d live to see the day. Most impressive. It brings back memories of you teaching me how to shade when we were little kids. Who would ever think those moments would have evolved to this. Great work as usual, man. I love how it has a sort of flower-like quality to it too. You could totally start a clothing-line off this style.

Thanks so much man… LOL you remember the shading days, hah. :)

I’m really thinking about developing it further. I’m pretty excited :)

Ooh flower, maybe I’ll do one next!

    I like it. :)
Kinda has an ink-stain effect, in that it can technically look like just about anything.
To me, what it brought to mind was the MASH quote: “did you just see a giant bird with fuzzy pink feet?” :-p
