Luxury Is A Personal Right

Anyone who pushes the world`s boundaries is usually a hot-topic, hated and loved. Someone chooses to be more openly sexual than society is used to – there`s a riot. Someone chooses to make more dollars than anyone`s ever made, it`s an uproar. Most of the people who aren`t setting the records, are very busy bees, gossiping about the record-setters.

To me there is nothing wrong with these record-setters, and they are something to praise, and possibly aim for, if they inspire you. If not, take a breath and let them be. No matter what you think, they are not hurting you. They can`t. You`re powerful. You are. You are.

And luxury is as much your right, as it is anyone else`s.

This post was inspired by the happy-go-lucky folks over at The Abe Forum, and now, without further adieu… because you know you wanna hear it:

Luxury Is A Personal Right – "The world loves variety, and everybody has their own role to play. If everyone made the exact same income, and bought the exact amount of stuff, would we enjoy that? Some people are meant for luxury. It may be you, it may not be. Jay-Z, Steve Jobs, and other rich celebrities make some of the biggest changes in the world. If your role is to be luxuriously successful, go for it."

May your mind and your life – open, elevate, and succed! :)

Do you REALIZE that it’s not only ‘okay’ to want the finer things in life, it’s wonderful? (*Yes, it’s fine to want a life of minimalism and lacking material extravagance as well, but we’re going to give some attention to just how beautifully awesome a life of luxury is.)

If you`re talking about luxury…

BE AWARE OF ANY ENVY, JUDGMENT, GUILT, &
LABELLING.

Good, now…DROP IT.

Any talk of celebrities ‘wasting’ money, people splurging ‘foolishly’, governments embezzling, etc. is basically bulls***.

Quit. Worrying. What. Others. Are. Doing.

Seriously. Pay attention to your thoughts. Are they positive and uplifting, or are they often slamming others? Especially in regards to money, consumerism, materialism, and luxury:

A TOPIC USUALLY FILLED WITH JUDGMENT.

If your day-to-day thoughts are comparing yourself to others, doubting others, judging others, thinking that oh, you could do better than them were you in their shoes, and so on – then getting as far as you really want in life, may not go as smoothly and quickly as you prefer.

People are doing their best and they may not have had your type of life experiences, perspective, love, childhood, etc. Everybody grows and everyone may not feel capable of magically + immediately learning all the awesome things you’ve had the opportunity, experience, & practice. Allow them to learn things on their own.

Luxury may defined as any excess of anything that’s not necessary, but enhances the experience of life.

Luxury is realtive. It’s different for everyone.

What you`re calling luxury, is other people`s TRUE CALLING.

Do you get that?

Nothing is extravagant.

Everyone can have whatever they like,* whatever is appropriate for them.

(*From the instant classic Whatever You Like by T.I. )

An artist feels good about ‘splurging’ on a luxury studio, a fashion-model on luxury clothes, a child on candy, a terrorist on guns. Some people love expensive travel, others expensive food. Others like to have expensive everything.

Each individual person has their own personal calling towards certain possessions and experiences that feels right for them.

"But, but, this person has so much MORE than my poor friend."

LAW OF ATTRACTION – You can achieve whatever you like, and the power is ALL IN YOU.

…It’s not a big deal.

Relax and let each person move towards their own experiences and possessions without blame or judgment. Focus on moving towards the experiences you feel good about.

As stated before: day-to-day thoughts define who we are.

Many of the poor and the struggling, if you’re able to note, are thinking consistently, habitually, unconsciously & desperately about cheapness, bargains, squeezing every last cent out of things, thinking as if every penny they have is the last one they will ever have ever. They scrimp and save mentally over and over, coloring each action they take with the mentality of a miser.

Andrew Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, and Jay-Z are examples of tremendously successful people who faced massive, repeated, consistent setbacks, and they faced them and went on to live repeated, consistent success and ‘luxury.’

The thinking of these people even when they were broke, was luxury. They felt that time & money flowed and was easy to spend on whatever they loved. They had little (or no) doubt that their vision was
completely WORTH the hard times.

The poor and struggling have usually experienced far, far, far fewer ‘failures’ on a lesser ‘scale’ than the ‘successful’ people. They’ve also usually taken far less ‘risks’.

And it’s fine. The world has room for every type of person. We don’t all have to be the same. There is no One Right Way.

Take a breath, a break from all the judgment.

There is nothing ‘bad’ in any of it. There is no comparison, everyone has their own awesome, beautiful, wonderful life story to live.

LOVE IT.

PART OF THE REASON HUMANITY EVOLVES & DEVELOPS
TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS & IMPROVED LIVING
CONDITIONS IS BECAUSE WE ARE TEMPORARILY DEPRIVED OF WHAT WE WANT, AND FROM THIS DEPRIVATION WE
DEFINITIVELY AND
PASSIONATELY
CREATE A SOLUTION.

In summary: Do What You Love

Do what feels right and you will thrive and have easy, convenient, and secure access to all the beautiful, luxurious, fantastic things, feelings, & experiences you desire. (until it’s your time.)

For every trauma and struggle, there exists an equal windfall and solution, and life is all about that.

If you feel lacking in any way, if you are pushing against your or other people’s success or what you label as their ‘extravagance’, the chances of you experiencing any luxurious items & events that you want are very slim.

"Many people obtain wealth and profit from what seems like thin air!"

If you’re in a feeling of love, appreciation, and allowing, you can make the seemingly ‘crazy’ decisions that bring you to the right-place at the right-time, this is what has brought so many people through ups and downs,
to sustainable success.

Believe in things unseen, have faith that you can be, do, and have anything you imagine.

Know, like the visionary you are, that there is a fortune for you out there in life; IT EXISTS. Feel it and live it by believing in yourself, your thoughts, attitudes, habits and dreams within.

Sincerely,
SpiritSentient.com

I had an odd emotional reaction after reading a part near the beginning of this piece, specifically the statement “Any talk of … governments lying and cheating and embezzling is basically bullshit.” I felt uneasy after reading that statement, which means nothing other than I felt uneasy. Could you clarify what you meant? Are you defining bullshit as “inaccurate / non-factual” or did you mean it as “irrelevant / distraction”… or something else entirely? Thanks.

  • http://spiritsentient.com Jason

Amen man :) I personally find strong emotions to be suuuper-helpful in guiding me through life.

The clarification is more like this:

Of course there is an appropriate and tasteful time to discuss everything, and ‘problems’ can’t really be ‘solved’ unless we acknowledge them, but the mass majority of the time, talk of governments lying/cheating/embezzling amounts to … well, bitching.

And bitching is extremely weak compared to the thoughts most people have access to.

    It’s usually akin to
    -gossip
    -trash-talk
    -complaining
    -obsessive worrying

Choose not to bitch. Choose not to be the guy who SEES a mess on the floor, and sits around with his feet up pointing at it and telling everyone who passes “Yoohoo, there’s a mess on the floor! Clean it! Someone clean it!”

It’s usually counter-productive, unless you’re at a level of outright apathy and despair, in which case, it’d be a step up, getting angry at something.

If you have access to awesome, positive, life-changing thoughts, then choosing to bitch and moan with most of your conversation/thinking is probably not going to feel so good.

We make a big deal and concern ourselves so much with what OTHER people are doing, there is no space to focus on our own thoughts and actions. There are so many moments making up a day, and I love it when mine are massively occupied with things that make me feel AMAZING, and when I was young, I felt great about bitching and hating on govts. and stuff.

Now I’ve grown and I feel great about noticing things I can do, big and small, that change the government I used to complain about.

I spend my time writing amazing things that children and teens read as they surf the net, and I know some of those kids will be our next government, and I know strongly that I have made a massive change through that.

I also know I could’ve skipped writing these things with time, and just sat around trashing govts. with acquaintances who enjoy indulging in that.

I’m not really *telling* anyone what to do, the typographic piece is just using firm language to make an impression.

And I feel like it did :)

Thanks so much for your inspirational comment/question man, look at me rant lol.

    Rock on :D

Thanks for the clarification, I’m finding a lot to agree with here. I think a positive side effect of the DWYL is that even if you’re only doing what you love 10% of the time, it’s a great contrast to the other 90%, giving you a point of reference to aspire to. I think naturally you’ll want more of that.

  • http://spiritsentient.com Jason

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Exactly! It totally gives you something to aspire to. That is a great way to look at it :)

Dude you rock. Great comment :)

(I’d like to add that we all really, really CAN Do What We Love all the time, it just seems ballsy/crazy/life-threatening sometimes at first :D )

  • vfonz

Yes indeed! I think almost everyone needs to take a more positive outlook towards life and even the difficult or negative aspects we encounter. The expression “don’t just curse the darkness, light a candle” needs to really be put into our thoughts, WORDS, and actions, and I think what you say, that it really has to start with our way of thinking, is soooo true! I for one, have been feeling this a lot in my own spirit lately, and at work, have been trying to leadi conversations away from just the usual complaining about life/work/governments etc… and have focused more on the positive! Keep up the great inspirational sharing!!!
