My love for creativity, growth, change, transformation, etc. is certainly no secret, and lately, people around me have been creating some phenomenally beautiful things. Here are 3:
Lately I’ve been seeking out more and more diverse music, on top of my already massive collection. World Music, exotic instruments I’ve rarely encountered (shamisen, sitar, fiddle, violin, etc.) are becoming more known in my circles.
Suresh Singaratnam (whoissuresh.com), when I knew him back in high school, was a prodigy of a trumpet player. Today, he’s even better. You can hear his beautiful music for free on his myspace, and if you like it and it feels right, I’d highly recommend you invest some funds in supporting his work. Speaking of supporting works, Suresh himself has started a project to support cancer research, and that is his debut release Two-Hundred And Sixty-One. You can get it from iTunes, Amazon, or HMV. Here’s a tribute performance of his, of Flight Of The Bumblebee – Arranged for 5 Trumpets. It’s awesome
He’s Canadian, he’s cool, and he is damn skilled with the Trumpet. Check him out.
Next up, SpiritSentient’s Tori Mongrain (and ToriMongrain.com‘s!) treatise on how to offer oneself as a woman, to a man, for a beautiful relationship. There is much beauty here, and I can’t praise this enough. The details do not matter so much (everyone has their own preferences and ideas, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be gender specific if you’re big on same-sex relationships…), and I’d like to focus on the energy. The openness, the directness, the surrender + giving + value-providing attitude. This is a beautiful thing to give anyone at anytime, but I find it particularly powerful and touching in this context. After writing something like this, a person opens themselves up to whatever rejection, hurt, or insensitivity another decides to dish out, but also shines radiantly and attractively, inviting the other to be involved in and partake of everything she has to offer. This is an intimate, powerful, tremendously beautiful thing, and I love it.
This note is tailored and effortfully directed specifically towards a perfect partner. It will attract exactly someone who can appreciate her for who she is, simply because of it’s forthright, completely open honesty and integrity. Note the point-form, lack-of-games or dancing around, and circuitous speech style it makes use of. This method of communication can be considered very oriented towards a masculine-type-partner, which goes to demonstrate how every inch of this note is focused on what she’d love to offer someone, and on attracting someone who would appreciate said offer. Personally, I’d love for more of this type of thing to occur, particularly in our possibly-jaded-feeling generation. Even if someone were to not appreciate the beauty of this note, being clear on one’s vision and on what one is prepared to offer the world, in a relationship or otherwise is incredible.
Finally, we have Bella Agronik (of the soon-to-be launched, Opal Sky Creations + a SpiritSentient partcipant) ‘s Vision Board. The process of creating a vision-board is very personal, and very beautiful. Through it one can organize one’s thoughts and vision amazingly, and at the same time inspire oneself to great new heights. It may not work for everyone, or be everyone’s way, certainly, but definitely worth considering, and for me, easy to appreciate. Sharing it is equally awesome.
It touches on all the major aspects of life in our generation: freedom, security, career, money, passion, love, sexuality, fitness, growth, play, appreciation, balance, and all kinds of other desires. I’ve created all kinds of stuff like this myself and it’s starting to inspire me to do so once again. Perhaps some of you will consider creating your own. It’s not difficult and can be very fulfilling. We all look at billions of images in life; would it be so bad to focus on images of things we really want to experience?
Anyway, some beautifully inspirational creations I definitely felt like high-lighting. I know they’re helping people already. Do What You Love!
