I Love Women

I Love Women Banner

Don’t you? The world benefits from appreciation, gratitude, beauty, love.

This post focuses on all those things.

I just finished a labour of love.

From my collection of 7946 photos (+3 I found while working on this piece), I went through 12 sorting sessions (multiple hours each!) to select 482 hand-picked images, which were trimmed down to approximately 200 video-perfect shots. Then those 200 photos were re-sized, up-res’d, cropped, and re-touched by hand to get them ready for a 720p HD video which required 32 separate renders in After Effects, assembly in Sony Vegas, and 5 final renders to nit-pick details and put on finishing touches. It made use of 2 songs, 1 script (that went through 6 drafts), and I don’t know how many transitions, all to share ~5:40 of video with you guys.

This all took place in a hurricane of inspiration over a period of 4 days.

The result?

A very sexy, very beautiful, very arresting slide-show (if I do say so myself,) which is intended to share some love and appreciation for the beauty of women, and the people who capture and share their images.

Am I bragging? Maybe… I’ve created many, many things in my life, and it occurred to me recently that perhaps people think it happens by magic, or that very little effort, energy, or physical action is involved. It felt like all the goodness I share with the world might be appreciated more and received better if I shared a little bit more about them…

Like how much went into making them.

Maybe people will like it, maybe not, but either way, I had an inspired, amazing blast creating it, as usual :D

There are other, similar things like this on the net, but they’re usually thrown together in Windows Movie Maker, with very little re-sizing or quality control, and rarely any credit given to the original image-creators. Hopefully I’ve made some progress in those areas, and whether you understand all the technical mumbo-jumbo or not, hopefully it feels good to watch.

Hopefully it touches some hearts (and eyes!)

Hopefully it gets you thinking at least slightly more positively about women of the world, our often sexually awkward culture, and beauty in general.

And hey, if someone wants to make a tribute to guys, for some poetic balance, I’ll totally feature ;)

EDIT! YouTube randomly suspended SpiritSentient’s youtube channel, so for now check the video on Vimeo (a very sexy, very slick, very easy to use YouTube alternative.)

    Beautifully done!!! Arresting indeed!
I know everyone’s full of appreciation for the video… which I am as well as a matter of fact :)

but I’d love to complement the height of the QUALITY of it,
which happens to leap off the screen to me, and totally DOES set this apart in a truly impressive manner!

VERY well done… love the attention to detail, LOVE the perfect timing to the music, love the quality control of resolution/color/contrast/brightness (which SO showed!) and size/cropping of the photos… and the timing of the texts…
    juxtapositioning, “camera” movement, everything!…

(even the fact that you did that ridiculous [as in awesome] list of credits!)

a labor of love that truly shows through! Very impressive!

And yes, the video itself as a whole is beautiful and truly arresting! :)

P.S.- that list of steps that composed said labor of love made my eyes go very wide. Respect, babe! Major respect!

P.P.S.- seeing the full title of this video had me laughing till I gasped for air. Leave it to you to make an innuendo out of it. :D lol

Wow :) I’m touched! You guys are the best. The appreciation feels so amazing.

    @Adam: Always first lol :)
@Arthur: I have such a collection of photos, I was easily considering multiple sequels.
@Pooneh: I believe it’s your debut comment on SpiritSentient!
    @Cara: mmm… I totally hear ya.
@Bella: I’m thinking your comment may have taken as long as the video! lol :) So awesome. That many steps goes into many of the creations at SpiritSentient, this was one of the few times I felt compelled to articulate them.

And thank YOU for appreciating my sex jokes. :P

  7. Bella says:

    Mmm… you’re welcome. :)

(Being readily amused by life totally amps up its’ quality. I really love laughing like that! :D
hmm… maybe I’m more readily impressed lately, too?! ;) Maybe that articulation of steps helped. :P I love getting a look behind-the-scenes! :D )

Yes, women with curves can be beautiful too, it just wasn’t my mood while I was creating the video.

    I love women, people :)
