I had quite a rough day today
and then i experienced 4 things brought a smile to my lips.
1. on the subway i was practicing my hands-free balance and had 4 kids arguing really loudly whether or not i had glued my feet to the floor for all the stops.
2. my landlord made me pasta and had it waiting for me when i finally got home.
3. i got a short but sweet e-mail from an awesome chick i know.
4. i stumbled across this:
Buddhist Prayers for Peace
I
May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses.
May those frightened cease to be afraid,
and may those bound be free.
May the powerless find power,
and may people think of befriending one another.
May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wilderness–
the children, the aged, the unprotected–
be guarded by beneficial celestials,
and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood.
II
Evoking the presence of the great compassion, let us fill our hearts with our own compassion–towards ourselves and towards all living beings.
