Making It Beautiful

Making It Beautiful

I love beautiful things. And beautiful people.

But more than both the above, I like making it beautiful.

I do this at restaurants. When I go to a Subway restaurant, I always see the same old thing, it doesn’t matter how much they change the menu, or give you the option to heat up the bun, a sub is just a sub.

At the same time, it isn’t.

I like asking the person behind the counter, so what’s your favorite sub? (dude answers)

And I’ll respond: that sounds awesome, I’ll actually have that today (guy gives me extra everything, and throws in a free bag of chips if hes the boss).

Wherever I go, wherever I am, I intend for everybody to remember the most important rule:

is it… being socially acceptable?

is it… doing what’s “right”?

No! It’s to have FUN!!!!

And I have a good time doing it, I make it happen, everybody goes away with an impression of the awesome experience they had.

It’s just something that I do. What’s beautiful is what’s fun. Are you being beautiful today? :)

Go Where the Passion is

Go Where the Passion is

This advice that came to me as a child, (the person whom I will never forget, yet I can never remember her name) has never let me down.

In your life there are so many opportunities to meet with so many different kinds of people. Why would you choose to go to one opportunity when there is another?

Life is a one in a million opportunity, and if you aren’t making the most out of what’s in front of you, NOW, then you might as well just be on drugs or drunk.

IMG_2075

To take what you’ve been given in life, and appreciating the heck out of it, is, pretend there is italics, “recommended”.

Your computer, when you are passionate with what you are doing, becomes a transmission of light from your hands and eyes towards some higher sharing.

But when you aren’t in the flow, and you just look at it like an object, without any passion for yourself, it just becomes dead weight. Less than that really, and so you get the people who incessantly play facebook games, pointless conversations on MSN and meaningless twitter posts.

Can you imagine, over the course of a mere 1 week, how much more you would accomplish if you were passionate the whole time? 1 month? 1 year? 10 years? I believe between you and I, we could change the world together.

So how do you get passion when you don’t have it? Go to where the passion is. Someone has it, and it may be in a workshop, a private lesson, a friend, a lover, a book, a show, whatever! Immerse yourself with all kinds of people and all kinds of things that is just pouring out with it.

It’s the only way to go.

If you don’t have passion in your life, then I don’t even want to talk to you. Don’t be that guy ;)

Chilly Winter Healthy Air

Chilly Winter Healthy Air

It’s winter season in Toronto, and as the temperature lowers we appreciators-of-the-snow have moved around in the cold city air, and it seems more than one of us have caught the fun bug — commonly called the cold.

Myself included. But not for long, I know as much :)

But while it’s here, with it’s pleasant symptoms comes a little bit of sneezing, at times a runny nose, and sometimes even some uninvited advice from family and friends about how to cure it.

Cold - Rob Boudon

How people treat their cold is like how they treat their finances, or relationships. When something like a cold happens, is it… a problem, a challenge, or something to simply appreciate?

I heal myself from injuries and sickness faster than anyone I know. I also maintain and improve a robust body, flexibility, strength and co-ordination rather easily. I’m not saying this to brag, but to shed some light on how anyone can do it, if they were simply to choose certain thoughts.

I had decided, somewhere along the way, to appreciate every sniffle and cough that comes from this delightful temporary preference of the body to operate. No cough is the same, some are used to refocus yourself on actions that don’t require a lot of talking (guess why the author is writing a blog post right now?) ;) Every sniffle is an opportunity to indulge in quality drinks and foodstuffs that you’ve forgotten about lying around the house, like those aloe vera juice bottles you’ve gotten as a gift and a reminder to cook a truly awesome vegetable soup with all those groceries you’ve somehow forgotten to cook.

Be an appreciator of every detail of life. Even if you can’t appreciate every hiccup and slip-up that life seems to give you, because you can’t see the beautiful magnificence of life’s logic yet, you can still reach and appreciate the contrast. It’s the time away from the ones you love that make you realize how much better it is with them. It’s the arguments that help give you that little encouraging push to speak in more tasteful ways. It’s the mistakes of how you live your life that help you decide what you really want to act upon. And things are never as they seem. There’s always something more going on, and it unfolds around us poetically when we don’t force it.

Bless the Weather - Neal

Just don’t make the same mistakes twice. Start appreciating now. Life is friendly and forgiving to those who trust and are patient with themselves.

Because you can (Because why not?)

Because you can (Because why not?)

There’s a lot of amazing people out there. Sometimes we can be more than impressed. Maybe too much so, and instead of appreciating people in our fields we get discouraged and settle for unproductive useless activities, frittering away our time and energy on things deep down we know are meaningless.

But… you know you’re awesome, so why not just go for it? Y’know, all the awesome things you know you’re meant to do that you’ve never actually gotten around to doing ;)

Why Not - David InternosPhoto

I’ll be the first to admit that with posts people have made about helping others, on the topic of growth and Spirituality such as StevePavlina.com and even Jason Fonceca from SpiritSentient.com put the bar so high at times that I felt it difficult for me share what I had to offer.

I was missing the point :)

Lemme splain’ it*. You see, when I was sharing this concept (and learning about it myself at the same time because it was so in the moment) to a friend yesterday after we performed together in a show, that when you appreciate others, you are telling your subconscious, I am grateful about these characteristics! I love this!

… I am this :)

This particular friend of mine is particularly critical which comes from his logical ability and tendency to get away with things because of his intellect.

Since we are both dancers, I put the idea to him in a way he could understand, and I’ll explain that in a simple way that the reader will understand too.

Dance is rather simple. If you break it down logically, one particular dance move that a professional dancer would use would simply be moving one arm in front in a 90 degree angle (and bringing it back to the waist). But simply moving your arm up and down is not dance.

beach capoeira - familymwr

It’s what you do in-between the moves, that make dance, dance. It’s your groove.

But this isn’t just about dance. It’s about everything.

If you’re an optimist, and you tell a pessimist, I’m appreciating the current moment, those beautiful lights, this awesome dub-step music, and everything about this club etc.

So that person might reply: well I get it you’re an optimist and you see the bright side of life. You’re talking about things you appreciate and are around us. I get you.

…but they don’t.

The words (I’m an optimist) mean nothing, they’re like your arm. It’s just there. It’s not about the words at all, it’s much more about that deep inner feeling of trusting the awesomeness of life and loving the beauty of life and being so grateful :)

It’s about an overflow of happiness that cannot be broken down from a few mere words of logical English. It just doesn’t translate.

So how does this help you?

Well, if you are a fan of thought management and passionate growth and if you’ve read this far you must be, the recommendation is to be a little more conscious of your own words and actions. Don’t live your life by just going through the motions. Live life aware of your own thinking :)

*It’s your choice. Instead of being jealous or scared about others being on a level higher than yourself, don’t compare and simply and truly appreciate, you will be surprised at what comes out of your hands and mouth, creating more value than perhaps you can imagine at this time.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day

It’s Thanksgiving today, and there’s a lot to be thankful for. Some of you are sitting at home waiting for that big family dinner filled with Turkey and good cheer, others may have some kind of romantic dinner with their loved one, and no matter even if you are spending Thanksgiving day alone, there’s definitely something to appreciate and be happy about.

Thanksgiving Turkey by Scubadive67

For me, Thanksgiving day is always a time of celebration and it’s always a reminder of the family, friends, and even skills and resources I have in my life. Life always reminds me of all the awesome people I’ve been able to meet, and all the fun things I’ve been given opportunities to be in and take part of, and I know there’s always more goodness that is coming.

And the general theme of it all that I’ve seen everyone do these days, is whenever someone feels good, they share that feeling with others, in many different forms.

That’s why I always do what I love, so that I can do more of what I love. Because when you’re that full, of life and celebration, it’s easy to share. And sharing is really the joy of life. You can name anything you find pleasurable, anything, anything, but sharing and seeing the light on another person’s face is the only thing that never gets boring.

Life requires a balance, and when that balance is there, everybody wins.

When it’s there…

Happy people by Evil Erin

At everyday of our lives there are what can be considered Thanksgiving moments. And the best way to milk out those awesome moments, for me personally, is:

• To encourage others whenever the feeling is happy

• To motivate another whenever the energy is pumped

• To inspire another whenever the muse strikes

Life, realize that once you take, it can sometimes be funnest to immediately give back, simply something, it’s a wonderful thing. And since life is always giving…
