A break from the everyday…

I’m always going on and on about how life’s all about variety, and it is. Sometimes its easy for people to get caught up in one thing or another, relationship-drama, business-projects, stresses, addictions, etc. — There’s all kinds of things one can do to help oneself, and one of my personal favourites is getting outdoors, being peaceful and care-free in nature.

To that end, Greg and I made a trip to Niagara Glen recently for an outdoor bouldering adventure. We had a blast the whole way, met some interesting characters, made tons of jokes, and sent a few projects. One of them was a V3 route named Gateway, and it was a great climb. (V3 isn’t anything special, most climbers you’ll see on film would probably consider it less than a warm-up, but hey… competition wasn’t really the point of this.)

Greg tried the 2 hardest moves on this route a few times over until he nailed it at the end of the day, and beautifully enough, a random crowd had gathered for his last attempt, I got the majority of this on film.

So the trip was awesome, the location was beautiful, the climbing was wicked, and it all inspired creativity because in order to create the video you’re about to see, I had to learn a *ton* about video codecs, editing, and so on.

So, without further ado… Greg Wheeler on Gateway. *Please pay no mind to the utterances of frustration, they’re just part of the fun of life! :)

Many thanks to Neel Parikh for his crashpad/guidance, Greg for being ‘an animal’, Kid Famous for his awesome musical skills, and the Casio Exilim S10 for being so portable.

And thanks to all of you for following along!
